Caitlyn Scarlett is an English singer-songwriter of soulful dark pop and dance music. A self-taught guitarist and piano player from Bray, she moved to London proper at the age of 17. A year later, in 2014, Jurassic Jukebox/Illstarz/Seismic issued her debut EP, Jurassic Jukebox and Other Drugs, which blended pulsing electronics and grittier guitar-band arrangements behind her voice.

That same year, Scarlett contributed guest vocals to Manfred Mann’s album The Lone Arranger and was featured on the Little Simz-Jakwob single “Time Capsule.” She then came across Kwame from Ferocious Talent and a new two pronged plan came to fruition. Kwame says, “It was clear to me that Caitlyn was both, Artist AND Writer and we needed to start her on the writing ladder to fully exercise her clear talent in both lanes.”

Jonny Taylor who works with Kwame on Caitlyn set to finding new people for Caitlyn to co-write with. At the same time on Ferocious Label Services / She Rex, the label was set up to accommodate releases. Singles such as “Rust” and “Possession of a Weapon”, 2017’s “Red Tape, Vol. 1” committed to a more Dark soulful electronic sound, and then started on a string of collaborations with everyone from the multi-platinum award-winning “Rudimental” to Jack Wins, Ryan Shephard, Cliq,Crazy Cousins, Just a Gent, 84 Controller, and has worked on a one-off basis with labels like BMG and Warner.

With her own songs “B.I.G” and “Shangri-La” now stretching into the millions stream wise on her own Artist/Manager partnered release schedule, she has now has over 60 million streams and is still fiercely independent. Her latest release “Bitchcraft” comes in October 2022. An EP full of that original Scarlett fire, her project now has split into two lanes; Her own new project will be released under the new RUBBERBAND Girl name and the more Dance-orientated experimental releases will come under “Caitlyn Scarlett”.

2023 will be a big year for Caitlyn Scarlett.
